March 2006: Paper Published
James I. Wright, Principal Consultant for James I. Wright & Associates, had a paper published in the Medical Device & Diagnostics Industry journal. The article title is “Using Polyurethanes in Medical Applications. In this article, Mr. Wright describes the usage of polyurethanes in various medical device applications. May 10, 2005: James I Wright Granted U.S. Patent
James I. Wright, Principal Consultant for James I. Wright & Associates, was granted U.S. Patent Number 6,890.321 for “Hard Tip Over-the-Needle intravenous catheter. Mr. Wright was co inventor of a flexible over-the-needle intravenous catheter. This invention allows the use of a soft IV catheter and a rigid tip to penetrate the skin. The resultant catheter is very comfortable to the patient compared to rigid over-the-needle catheters.

February 22, 2005: James I Wright Granted U.S. Patent
James I. Wright, Principal Consultant for James I. Wright & Associates, was granted U.S. Patent Number 6,858,219 for “Methods for Sterilizing Male Animals”. Mr. Wright was co inventor of a method to sterilize male animals using an embolic agent deposited in the vas deferens. This method employs the use of a micro catheter that delivers a solution which solidifies after placement. This method eliminates the need for surgery.

July 6, 1999 - James I. Wright Granted U.S. Patent.
James I. Wright was awarded U.S. Patent Number 5,919,176, "Apparatus and Method For Collecting Blood From An Umbilical Cord" along with team members from Children's Hospital of Oakland Research Institute, Fallbrook Engineering, and Gorton Design. This innovative device will improve the collection of stem cell-rich umbilical cord blood. Stem cells are used in bone-marrow transplants.
